What this Mzansibet guide knows about you
Reading a page leaves a small trail. Your browser tells our server which page you asked for, from what kind of device, and a little more. That is most of what we hold, and it never includes your bets, your bank details or your ID. This notice is current as of 8 October 2026.
Who is the responsible party?
The editorial team behind this guide, in the sense of the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). The notice speaks only for this guide. The Mzansibet casino and every other site we link to run their own privacy notices, and what they collect is their business.
What we collect
- Technical data sent by your browser: IP address, device type, browser version, pages opened.
- Anonymous usage statistics, such as which pages get read and for how long.
- Whatever you write to us yourself: your name, email address and message.
There is no sign-up here, so there is no password to lose, and we take no payments.
What we use it for
Technical and usage data tell us whether pages load properly on mobile and which topics readers keep coming back to. Messages let us reply and correct errors. Nothing is used to make automated decisions about you, and we do not build profiles to sell.
Cookies
A few cookies keep the pages and the cookie notice working, and others count visits. Blocking or deleting them in your browser is fine, and the guide still reads normally. Accepted the banner by accident? Clear your cookies and it asks again.
| Cookie group | Purpose | Can you refuse it |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | Keeps pages and the cookie notice working | No, the site needs it |
| Analytics | Counts visits and page reads | Yes, through your browser or the notice |
| Preference | Remembers choices such as the cookie banner | Yes, by clearing cookies |
Who else sees it
Hosting and analytics providers process data on our behalf, only to deliver those services. Click a link to Mzansibet or any other site and you have left this guide, so that site answers for what it collects. We do not sell personal information.
How long it stays
Analytics data is kept for a limited period, then aggregated or deleted. Messages stay for as long as it takes to deal with your request and any follow-up, and then they are removed. Nothing is archived just in case.
Where it is stored and how it is protected
Connections are encrypted and access is limited to the people who need it. Some providers may keep data on servers outside South Africa. When that happens, we pick providers that commit to protection comparable to POPIA.
Your rights under POPIA
You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and object to how it is used. If you think your information was mishandled, you can complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.
Making a request
Email [email protected] and put the request in the first line, for example “send me a copy of my data” or “please delete my message”. We may ask you to confirm who you are first, so nobody else can see or remove your information. We aim to reply within a reasonable time and tell you what was done. A normal request costs nothing.
Under 18
The guide deals with gambling and is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and if we find we have, we delete it. A parent or guardian who spots such a message can ask us to remove it at the same address.
If this notice is edited
It will be edited when we add a tool or a provider changes how it works. The date under the heading tells you which version you are reading, and a change to what we collect will be described in the first lines of the page.
